Bill's Famous Pizza Dough

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 to 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package of active yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup very warm water (120 degrees, almost too hot to touch)

Directions:

  1. Mix 1 cup of the flour, the sugar, salt and yeast in a large bowl
  2. Add 3 tablespoons oil and warm water
  3. Beat with mixer scraping bowl frequently for 3 minutes
  4. Stir in remaining flour until dough is soft and leaves side of bowl
  5. Place dough on lightly floured surface and knead for 5 to 8 minutes or until dough is springy and smooth
  6. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let rest for 30 minutes
  7. Heat oven to 425°
  8. Grease pan with oil
  9. Divide dough in half and put on pans
  10. Partially bake for 7 to 8 minutes or until crust begins to brown
  11. Remove from oven, add toppings and bake for another 8 to 10 minutes

Be creative! Some of our favorite pizzas include "Bacon, Chicken, & Ranch," "Buffalo Chicken (Frank's hot sauce mixed with blue cheese for sauce)," and "Breakfast Pizza w/ Bacon, Eggs, & Cheese."
